Yesterday was my sweet friend's 40th Birthday!
I knew I wanted to make her an extra special birthday cake because she's extra special to me!
Cookies are my favorite things to make. Something I know.
Cakes, well not so much! I've always enjoyed making cakes, but they can be more temperamental. Decorating cakes is not my best gift either. So when it came to thinking about her cake, I just thought I'd use my cookies to decorate it.
Like all my sweets, I had to start with my drawings! :)
I made a list of her favorite things and went from there!!
She's a HUGE Mississippi State Fan and a HUGE Cowboys fan! Had to include those!
She also is a big part of our church and plays a huge role in our AWANA program for our kids.
Then to add in some personal touches with some snacks and drinks she likes....And can't forget about her favorite restaurant, Lou's Full-serv. If you haven't been there, go now! It is the BEST!!

I changed up a few of my drawings a bit when I got to the actual cake, but I love how these all turned out!!!
For the cake itself....
It was a strawberry cake with Cream cheese Icing! I followed the Recipe from Rosebakes.com for her Best Strawberry Cake ever and also her Cream Cheese Buttercream!!!{link to the recipe is on the side column}
